Based on a single chilling chapter from Bram Stoker’s classic novel Dracula, The Last Voyage of the Demeter tells the terrifying story of the merchant ship Demeter, which was chartered to carry private cargo—fifty unmarked wooden crates—from Carpathia to London.

Strange events befall the doomed crew as they attempt to survive the ocean voyage, stalked each night by a merciless presence onboard the ship. When the Demeter finally arrives off the shores of England, it is a charred, derelict wreck. There is no trace of the crew.

Looks dull as dishwater and generic as all hell, hopefully I'm wrong though as the concept could be fun / interesting.

I definitely have the cynic's mindset about this type of film. I appreciate that they are trying to do something new with the Dracula fables that isn't outright Dracula though. I don't doubt it might have a good atmosphere, but my biggest worry will be in regards to the characterizations and dialogue, etc., sometimes they tend to go a little too stilted in an effort to appear authentic.

Looks like it might be alright. As a policy, I try to be open-minded about a film I feel has a more unique, less pander-y concept (i.e. not a supernatural ghost film or a shoestring-budget artsy horror film). I'll check it out.
