It isn't my favorite of the How to Train Your Dragon series by a longshot (that'd go to either the first or the second), but it is still top-tier Dreamworks and western animation. The storytelling isn't without some simplified / cliched storytelling (oh, it's a girl dragon, she's white, 'cause the boy's black!) and things like that, but it has more than enough grandiose scale and depth to make it earn its keep. This is the same company that made Boss Baby, after all.
