The Nightmare Shift Podcast is an extension of my ( @Nick ) Nickelbib.com blogsite and will basically be me discussing horror movies and other things of a dark subject matter. Each episode will be 25-30 minutes (I try not to yammer or dither too much) and be of a scripted nature (think of them as my written reviews with an added component to them - I may talk more about what a story means to me and might offer anecdotes that otherwise might not be included in a standard review). The Podcast will factor into the Nightmare Shift Hall of Fame.

This is the first episode of the Nightmare Shift Podcast, and it focuses on the early filmmaking career of Wes Craven. I was real excited when I first introduced the Nightmare Shift Podcast, but I unfortunately failed. In the last half of 2023, I was ill every other day and I was very depressed. Likewise, too, my computer broke and it took the wind from my sails a little bit.

A lot happened, but it was actually the catalyst for creating Dustjacket. This year, I have felt a lot better (haven't been sick at all this year, switched to a new job, and, in general, I've been happier).

I already have the second installment recorded, but I need to edit it. I hope to start scripting and writing things as soon as I can.

Update: - I haven't lost interest in the project. Rather, it feels more appropriate to say that life has lost interest in me, haha.

I have begun writing the scripts for the second and third edition of the Podcast. That isn't the difficult part, however. The difficult part is finding an actual time to sit down and record. When I do - I hope to record both in a single session. I also want to try to do something where I record with my wife (we originally wanted to do our own Podcast, but I don't know if that will ever be feasible), and what I plan to do is have those be special editions of the Nightmare Shift Podcast.

Good luck, mate. If you can get a routine going, it can be a really rewarding experience.

That has always been the problem, haha. It is part of the reason why I haven't uploaded a second episode yet. Not because I can't get the time to record one episode (I actually did, but never uploaded it because too much time went by), but because, when I do start uploading, I want to keep a steady routine.

You must really, really not want to watch more Wes Craven films.
I will say there is a part of me that doesn't want to talk about the second Hills Have Eyes, but a part of me also doesn't want to talk about A Nightmare on Elm Street. As much as I covet the movie and as important as it is to me, I have reviewed it in other ways before and I almost feel like it is an overwhelming task at this point, haha.
