The Japanese Manga Artist, "Junji Ito"

Hey all,

I recently bought Shiver, which is basically a series of selected works by Junji Ito. I have been circling the man's name for years, and I finally decided to dive in and see what all the fuss is about.

I will be chronicling my thoughts in this thread, and I encourage you to leave your own thoughts on him. What is your favorite work by Junji Ito? Do you think adaptations (live-action, Netflix animation, etc.) have done him justice?

I haven't read anything of his personally. One day I will. Probably. (Maybe?) But I know his influence can be seen just about everywhere in horror at this point. Hope you like him!

I am about halfway through Shiver, and I am enjoying it. Thus far, hands down, the best story has been the "Balloon" story, which I enjoyed quite a bit.

I wanted to create a Podcast around Junji Ito, and I am working on how to frame it. I will read other stories he has made, obviously, but I was also wanting to touch on Japanese movies adapting his works, etc.

I have been meaning to watch the anime for Junji Ito for ages now. I've had it in my queue for awhile. Glad you're liking his written work.
