This latest entry in the Monsterverse franchise follows up the explosive showdown of Godzilla vs. Kong with an all-new cinematic adventure, pitting the almighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world, challenging their very existence – and our own. The epic new film will delve further into the histories of these Titans, their origins, and the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond, while uncovering the mythic battle that helped forge these extraordinary beings and tied them to humankind forever.

You know, I can't think of a single time I've seen the "x" addition in a mainstream film - it's usually an "&", "and", or "vs.", kind-of took me aback a bit.

I liked Kong: Skull Island.

Both Godzilla's and Godzilla vs. Kong were eh-kay.

I'll watch this one.

I'm kind of excited, it's supposed to fill in more of the backstory behind the rivalry of the two.

I have always wanted to watch more kaiju / monster movies. It's the same as with Hammer Horror and Universal Monster movies, where, even if they may not have aged well or even if I don't necessarily leave any of them with "glowing" reviews, I feel like it is a part of cinematic culture I don't want to be kept from. I just haven't yet, eh. (I'm talking about the early, early movies, to be clear.)

They're stupid fun (except when they try to be too much more than that, and become boring). I liked Godzilla vs. Kong and would be up for seeing a followup to it. So, that's cool. I wonder what this will all add up to though. Will they split the two again for standalone movies later (of course, they will eventually in reboots or remakes, etc.) in this current iteration, or will they double-down and try to incorporate other franchises like Pacific Rim?

There's no telling. They're going to do what makes them the most money. I would hope they explore some of the other Kaiju hinted at in the King of the Monsters and subsequent follow-ups.

I was really hoping the MonsterVerse would take off. I wanted to see another Legion of Extraordinary Gentlemen type league.

Last I checked, Universal has the rights to make an Attack on Titans movie. That could be a mainstream blockbuster if they played their cards right. It's honestly one of the best monster stories I've ever seen. They made some Japanese live-action movies for them, but I never got around to checking them out.

They were horrible, avoid them. Shoddy film technique and they butchered what made the anime so great.

'Fraid things being horrible aren't enough reason for me to avoid something.

I own them. (And the first two seasons of the anime.) I attend a lot of Comic Cons for Mishmashers Publishing, and I scooped a box-set featuring all of them (turned out to be a bootleg - you get a lot of those at Cons).

Well, that's fair and I respect everyone's right to watch them. I personally was not a fan and was a fan of the anime/manga; but, that is my own personal opinion.

I don't doubt they will be something less than classics, haha. As for the show, I liked the first couple seasons a lot (like, a lot a lot), but found it started to lose me some in the homestretch. I still haven't finished it yet though. I will likely have to start over sometime, if ever. That's the issue with shows that are in progress, especially one as layered as Attack on Titan was, is I don't feel like I will remember on the unique strands of story without re-watching it, but who has time for that? :ROFLMAO:

There is definitely a lot they "could" do. I would honestly vote for either (a.) a Pacific Rim crossover or (b.) a new, wholly original antagonist altogether. If they keep making money, they'll shell out the same film again and again. There's Gamora, 'member him, you 'member? There's mecha-Godzilla! But, instead of that, I would rather see a new enemy altogether. Even if it fails, that is how you bring art forward is by trying new things and seeing what sticks and what doesn't.

Sometimes the right director / storyteller comes along and breathes fire into a series you didn't know could be relevant or new again. That's what I would like to see with these movies someday (but I don't think it will happen any time soon).

Been watching a lot of these theory and villain discussion videos.

Got me hyped for the new villain if they prove true. They're theorizing the villain is more of a Titan killer/hunter.
