Surprisingly, it doesn't look half-bad. I never had an interest in the games, but I'll check out the film.

Looks fun. I'm cautiously optimistic about it. I am happy that Matthew Lillard is finally involved in another horror film (or film in general, for that matter).

It would be awesome if they took a blend of the game and Willy's Wonderland with it.

Rumor has it that Five Nights at Freddy's will release a second film in 2024 and a third film in 2025. Considering it is from Blumhouse, who did the same with Halloween and appears to be doing the same with The Exorcist, we know they don't bluff about their quick turnaround.

Hope the first delivers.

I believe the first film will do really well at the box-office, like in the 150 million range, and then, it will be in the 50-75 million range thereafter (point is, I think the first film will be enough to greenlight the trilogy).

You were right. The film did do really well at the box-office. You underestimated it though, as did many. The film is currently just shy of 300 million worldwide. You have to think that Five Nights 2 and 3 are all but paid for.

I still haven't had the chance to sit down and write a review of this film. Regardless, I can pretty plainly say that I didn't care for it very much, but I will also say that my wife who is a longtime fan of the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise loved it. I would say I am familiar with the lore and the fandom itself, although I wouldn't consider myself a part of it, so even I could appreciate certain inclusions that were thrown in. The cameos, even the music that played in the credits, it felt like a celebration of all the little odds and ins that made the series so popular. As a film, I believe it was competently made, but, a little dull, generic, and tonally inconsistent. I am hoping they can work things out for a superior sequel.

I liked it. It wasn't anything great, but it was fun. I appreciated the Workshop animatronics and the nods that only fans would get, but I felt it could have been more serious.
