I like Carrie, but I don't love it. Compared to Green Mile, IT, or Stephen's more heavy-hitters, it's definitely amongst his weaker stories (still revered as a classic).

An interesting aside, although it is his first published book, it was, I believe, his third book written overall.

Carrie is a great book. I remember the movie with Sissy Spacek. Anybody read the book AND watch both movies? Which did you like the best? Do you feel the book is better? Do you feel the characters were true to the story when on the big screen?

It's okay. I mean, - it's a classic. That's a given. As a book, it's alright. As a film, it was alright (and then, slightly less alright with the Chloe Grace Moretz remake).
